Competitive analysis – polymers (PIM, PAF): solid-state 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy

Polymer membranes are attractive candidates for gas separation (natural gas purification, air enrichment, hydrogen recovery, post combustion carbon capture from flue gas etc.), however, aging of polymers reduces gas permeabilities and limits their application as gas separation membranes. Anti-ageing of polymer membranes can be achieved by adding porous materials and prevent the packing and densification of polymer chains. The location and dynamics of side chains and chemical moieties within composite polymer membranes can be revealed by solid-state 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
